Leadership Foundation History
It all started in 1992 when Kentucky celebrated its Bicentennial. To commemorate great Northern Kentuckian’s over the past 200 years, the Leadership Hall of Fame was created to showcase the significant contributions our region has provided to our entire Commonwealth.

Community leaders involved in the Leadership Hall of Fame decided that to allow chance and circumstance to shape our leaders for the next 200 years was not acceptable. By identifying the next generation of leadership in our communities, exposing them to opinion leaders as well as community needs, we could potentially increase the pool of leaders for the next 200 years. The Northern Kentucky Youth Leadership Program was founded as part of the Northern Kentucky Leadership Foundation. This program became the primary focus of the Foundation.

In January, 2001 the Foundation came to the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Leadership Northern Kentucky became a part of the Foundation and the youth program grew into a regional program called Regional Youth Leadership.
