In 2008, Education Alliance of Northern Kentucky partnered with Northern Kentucky University and the NKY Center for Educator Excellence to host the A.D. Albright/ Golden Apple Awards. The Albright Awards are given in honor of Dr. A.D. Albright, President Emeritus of Northern Kentucky University, who was committed to the quality of this region's educational excellence. The Golden Apple Awards are presented to six elementary and six secondary-school teachers who have had an extraordinary impact on education and on the young people of the community. Academic All-Star Awards are presented to seven graduating high school seniors who have excelled in one of seven subject areas.
