Charity Night at the Tables > Charities Profile
Boone County CASA
A non-profit organization established in 1991, our mission is to provide specially trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interest of abused, neglected or dependent children in Boone County Family Court. Our ultimate goal is to assure that each child has a safe and permanent home. Once appointed by the Boone County Family Court Judge, the volunteer makes an independent evaluation of what is in the child’s best interest both -immediate and in the long run, attending court hearings,
and monitoring the case until a permanent plan is approved by the court.
Emergency Cold Shelter of Northern Kentucky
Our mission is simple - to provide a safe environment for individuals seeking shelter from the cold and to link those individuals with community agencies for additional services. The shelter does not duplicate services already offered by other organizations. We continually partner with other organizations and refer our guests to them for services we do not provide. Our goal is to host up to 50 guests each night. In 2009 we hope to find a permanent location for the shelter. For more information

The Parish Kitchen
For 35 years the Parish Kitchen has served a full meal daily to anyone who comes to our door. We currently average 185 guests each day. We are supported almost entirely by free will donations from the community - individuals, churches, schools and organizations. Additionally we have over 300 volunteers who assist us on-site as well as hundreds more who bake desserts, pick up donations and pray for us. We employ three persons full time and two part time. Five words describe who
we are and what we do - dignity, respect, attention, affection and hospitality. Thank you for your support.

Senior Services of Northern Kentucky
Committed to the care and well-being of Northern Kentucky’s low-income senior citizen community, Senior Services of Northern Kentucky is best known for Meals on Wheels, an organization provides transportation to medical appointments. We also provide services for elder abuse, Ombudsman services, information and assistance to the elderly and their caregivers. Older adults are the fastest growing segment in our community and we need YOUR help so no older adult goes hungry. There are 21 percent of
Kentucky’s seniors live at or below poverty and struggle because of limited resources. Please join our efforts in caring for the foundation of our community, the elderly.
The Steinford Toy Foundation
"Providing Christmas to Northern Kentucky children.” This has been the work of the Steinford Toy Foundation for nearly 70 years. Starting with one caring couple providing toys to neighborhood kids during the depression, the program has grown to include over 150 volunteers serving nearly 3,000 Northern Kentucky kids annually. The program’s mission is accomplished through the generosity of private donors, corporate support and a few dedicated volunteers. Nearly 100 percent of
the program funding received supports the acquisition and distribution of toys for the kids. The Steinford Foundation wants all kids to experience the excitement, joy and warmth of the Christmas season.
